About The Brain Donor Project The Brain Donor Project is a non-profit organization established in April 2016 to increase brain donation to advance neuroscience. It serves as the contracted outreach arm of the National Institute of Health (NIH)’s NeuroBioBank, which is its structure of brain banks supplying tissue to brain researchers all over the world.

Those who have pre-registered with The Brain Donor Project come from all 50 states, from newborns to more than 100 years old, and have so called “control” (non-diseased) brains as well as a spectrum of brain diseases and disorders. But more diverse brains are critically needed – science is not valid unless it represents ALL of us.
