Mya Metzel
Mya was born and raised in a bible believing home in southern California. Her family moved from Rancho Cucamonga to Beaumont during her childhood. She lived in Orange County while attending California State University, Fullerton for her bachelors in Child Development and her masters in education with an emphasis in special education. Mya got married and lived in Fullerton with her husband during the last semesters of both their masters programs. Mya taught in East Whittier for 5 years before her and her husband relocated to Utah.
In Utah, Mya and her husband had their first daughter where she also worked for 2 more years as a special education teacher. Her second daughter was born mere months after Mya's mother passed away from breast cancer, by her own choosing as Mya states. Her mom chose heaven. It was during this time of her mom's diagnosis, the Lord gave her a divine idea that began to shift beliefs in Mya through convictions by the Holy Spirit. This is what she describes as her bittersweet blessing, when the Lord used a bitter time in her mom's diagnosis to lead her into learning, relearning and implementing Gods way to health.
Over the years, Mya took baby steps to reduce the toxic exposure within her own family (husband, and two young girls) while increasing nutrient levels. Since that pivotal moment of change began, Mya continued to have a passion for moms and little ones, to help them begin healthier habits at home that could carry them for years to come. Mya began mentoring many moms, but never entered back into the classroom, though she loved and missed working with little ones. She went on to get her health coaching certification through the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute and sought the Lord's direction for what to do with her newfound passions and convictions.
The Lord is so faithful because He then lead Mya into teaching again through an online Mommy & Me Health Class that serves as a jumpstart for mamas with preschoolers who desire to begin their own pivot into more natural living and eating. Mya uses her experience as a teacher and one who has walked the road herself with her own littles. Starting new habits can be very overwhelming and keep many from beginning, so this is why the Lord has led her to guide you. She supports you in beginning your own pivot WITHOUT the overwhelm in shifting nutrition habits with little ones, who can also be somewhat resistant or "picky". It is possible for you. She's done it, lived it and is now helping you do it too through her jumpstart class.
