Ildi Varhelyi
Ildiko (Ildi) Varhelyi was born and raised in Hungary. Ildi moved to the United States twenty three years ago, and started working as a personal trainer for Boston’s most prestigious health club. Meeting clients with injuries and a variety of physical limitations prompted her to go back to school and deepen her knowledge. She studied physical therapy, massage therapy, neurology, movement therapy, kinesiology, yoga, nutrition, breathing, and sport performance to provide better services for her clients and students. She founded Bodybyildi where she provided personal training, wellness coaching, movement, and rehabilitation therapy for Boston’s elite.
A few years ago Ildi suffered from an incident that left her with a broken neck, injured spinal cord, and disabled arms. She opted for no surgery. Despite the debilitating injuries, she managed to fully rehabilitate herself using her own toolbox that is based on techniques engaging the brain and the nervous system. Sensory re-education, vision work, breath work, movement therapy and more, are all part of her repertoire in helping people in pain, people suffering from dizziness and vertigo, people with recurring injuries and neurological diseases. After her incident and successful recovery she decided to dedicate her practice to educate and teach people about the importance of brain health. This is how NeuroCentric Health and Fitness was born. Today, Ildi is completely pain free and has resumed all her favorite activities; basketball, running, yoga, indoor rock climbing, swimming and since moving to Naples she become addicted to pickleball.
